James Francombe is a consultant colorectal surgeon based at South Warwickshire Foundation Trust Hospitals (SWFT).
He also works at the Warwickshire Nuffield Hospital.

James gained his primary medical qualification in 1991 from The University of Liverpool. He has been a fellow of the Royal College and Surgeons of England since 1995, passing the intercollegiate exam in General Surgery in 2001. His main areas of interest are in :
  • Laparoscopic colorectal surgery - cancer and benign conditions, with enhanced recovery.
  • Anal fistula surgery
  • Rectal bleeding/piles and fissure.
  • Anal incontinence and constipation.
  • Colonoscopy and gastroscopy.
  • He was accredited to perform laparoscopic colorectal surgery by the National laparoscopic colorectal surgery training program in 2012. James completed his term as Clinical Director of Surgery at Warwick Hospital in January 2020.
